About the Author

Hello there. My name’s Alex and I’m the author here at Valourbörn.

I am, first and foremost, a creator. I’ve been creating for most of my life, daydreaming about magical worlds and fantastic adventures, and when I was in sixth grade, I started turning my imaginings into proper stories. Since then, I’ve been writing novels, short stories, and poetry, trying to capture the beauty and adventure that exists all around us, and trying to convey the thoughts and emotions that connect us to one another.

My highest aspiration is to inspire others. If I can make others realize their beauty and worth, if I can make them see how heroic and brave they can be, if I can truly prove that they are not alone, I believe I will have accomplished something incredible.

While I’m not creating, I’m helping and healing as best I can. I currently work at a vet clinic and am pursuing an education in veterinary medicine, as a technician. It’s an honour to be able to help people and animals in what small way I can and I couldn’t imagine a better career.

I’ve had a few battles with mental illness, namely depression and anxiety, and they are experiences I am still learning from. Though the battles are never easy, I am exceedingly grateful for the strength and wisdom I’ve gained from them. I hope that they will deepen my compassion and better enable me to help others.

I am fascinated by the depth and wonder of the people around me, astonished at the strength and power of their souls, and I hope that I will never stop seeing the beauty in the world. I hope that I will be able to contribute to it, with my words and my beliefs.

I’m always pleased to meet new people and hear new insights, so please feel free to contact me. I can be reached at valourborn@gmail.com.

I look forward to sharing my stories and passions with you.

All the best.

-Alex

  1. I may not be a full-time writer, but I’m a teacher of writing. Plus, I, too, blog about horses and what they teach me or make me daydream about. We should connect. Check our my blog: “Ngugi’s Word: Teachings of a retired racehorse”! I’ll be following yours!

  2. Alex, hello!
Thank you so much for following my blog! I’ve looked back over some of your posts and they are absolutely fantastic! It seems that we’re both having writing adventures! Good luck on yours and I cannot wait to read more on your blog here!

  3. Hey Alex! Was wondering if you have a twitter account connected to this blog? I’ve been trying to get into the Twitter habit, but always failed. So I thought it would be more encouraging to have everyone on it as well :>

    • Hmm, I don’t. I have Facebook, but that’s all. I’ll have to think on the Twitter. I’ve never been into the whole social media thing (my best networking efforts come from emails :P), so I should check it out :)
